 Etiology

  • Brima virus (double stocanded RNA virus)
  • Occurring in brooding growing stage
  • Initial enlargement of luria of Falericius followed poultry shed by fomitis . virus is highly contagious
  • Aedes vexan (mosquito act as casrrier)

Pathogenesis

  • Virus exert lymphocidal action and thus destroy immune system by destruction of immature lymphocyte in cloacal burea , thymus & spleen
  • Recovered bird remain immune suppressed and they have very poor response  to vaccine thus prone to other disease .
  • Very virulent infectious bureal disease (vv1 BD)

Clinical finding

  • Self vent picking & soiled vent feather
  • Anorexia , depression , trembling , watery & witish diarrhoea
  • Retardation of body growth &  recovery within 1 wk.

Lesson

  • Bursa swollen , oedematous & enlargement
  • Longitudinal striation
  • Gelatinous yellow transudate on serosal surface
  • Atrophy finally
  • Patchy haemorrhage at junction of gizzard & proventriculus
  • Swollen & urate deposition in kindly

Diagnosis

  • Agar gel diffusion test
  • Immunofluorence test
  • Virus neutralization test
  • E.L.I.S.A.

Control

1. Vaccine

  • Lukert type strain (live) vaccine
  • Gnactived (killed) vaccine

2. Thorough disinfection of personal should be made

3. Depopulation of affected bird

4. Sterilisation of equipment

5. Disposal of dead bird by burning
