International Day for the Eradication of Poverty :

Every year on October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed. This day is intended to recognise and acknowledge the efforts and challenges that people who are forced to live in poverty face. International Day for the Eradication of Poverty This day provides a chance to those people to voice out their concerns and make everyone realize that these people are the first one who will have to fight poverty. the Eradication of Poverty Poverty is a violation of human rights and there is a need for people from across the world to come together to ensure that these rights are respected.

RBI To Start A Pilot Programme For Digital Rupee:-

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a concept note on Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) to raise awareness and explain the objectives, benefits, technology, and risks associated with it. The country’s central bank also stated that it will soon begin a pilot programme for specific use cases, providing an idea of what to expect from the Digital Rupee. The Digital Rupee will, to an extent, mimic the characteristics of hard money (notes and coins).However, unlike the paper currency, the Digital Rupee cannot be touched.

Jaishankar Participates In Kiwi Indian Hall Of Fame Awards:-

During his visit to New Zealand, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the Kiwi Indian Hall of Fame Awards 2022 and the New Zealand launch of the book ‘Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery.’ The Kiwi Indian Hall of Fame Awards honour the most outstanding Kiwi-Indian achievers and trailblazers. Jaishankar contributed a chapter to the book Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery. He stated that both countries should leverage each other’s strengths and collaborate in areas such as business, technology, digital, education, talent, and agriculture.

J&K Tourism Department Inaugurated Bird Festival At Pahalgam:-

A first-of-its-kind Bird Festival 2022 was inaugurated in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at Pahalgam in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir. The J&K Tourism Department organised the Bird Festival in collaboration with the Sanctuary Nature Foundation. Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Tourism J&K, officially opened the festival. In his remarks to the gathering, he stated that the department’s collaboration with the Sanctuary Nature Foundation will not only help to promote tourism in Kashmir, but will also bring to the forefront those aspects of the tourism sector that have yet to be explored.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel Inaugurated Chhattisgarh Olympic:-

Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, has launched the state’s own Olympics. Baghel officially opened the grand multi-sport event at Raipur’s Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium.In a press note, the government said, “Soon after taking charge as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel started working on an action plan to promote the state’s glorious culture and tradition. Now, Baghel has undertaken a special initiative to revive one of the most delightful parts of our age-old tradition–traditional games–in a grand way by organizing the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics.”

Pankaj Advani Wins His Record 25th World Title In Kuala Lumpur:-

Pankaj Advani, India’s top cueist, has won his 25th gold medal on the world stage, winning the 2022 IBSF World Billiards Championship in Kuala Lumpur. In a one-sided final, he defeated compatriot Sourav Kothari 4-0 to defend his title for the fifth time in a row. Advani’s most recent world title came more than a year ago in Qatar, when he won the IBSF 6-Red Snooker World Cup. Advani’s record-breaking success as India’s winner of the most gold medals in world championships across all sports continues with 25 world titles.

Harmanpreet Singh And Felice Albers Named FIH Player Of The Year:-

Harmanpreet Singh of India has been named the FIH Player of the Year in the men’s category for the second time in a row. The 26-year-old is only the fourth player in history to win Player of the Year (men’s category) in consecutive years. Felice Albers of the Netherlands was named the FIH Player of the Year in the women’s category. The 22-year-old is the youngest winner of the FIH Player of the Year award (women’s category) since Germany’s Natascha Keller (1999), and the second youngest ever since the awards’ inception in 1998.

Indian Cricketer Smriti MandhanaNamed As Gulf Oil India Ambassador:-

Gulf Oil Lubricants has brought on board cricketer Smriti Mandhana, as its new brand ambassador. With this association, Gulf Oil claims to have become the first company in the lubricant space to appoint a woman cricketer as ambassador to represent the organisation and its ethos. Ease Of Doing Business : DPIIT Conducts National Workshop:-

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) conducted a National Workshop on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in New Delhi.The Keynote address at the Workshop was delivered by Shri Parameswaran Iyer, CEO NitiAaayog. He highlighted the importance of India’s performance on global indices. He underscored how Ease of Doing Business took the center stage as one of the most important pillars along with other programs, towards developing India as a preferred investment destination.
